Bently Nevada’s story began in the 1950s, when founder Don Bently developed the first commercially successful eddy current proximity transducer, a technology that became the American Petroleum Institute’s standard for measuring shaft vibration in industrial machinery. Bently moved the company to Minden, Nevada in 1961, where it remains headquartered today.
General Electric acquired Bently Nevada in 2002, and the company became part of Baker Hughes in 2017 following the GE-Baker Hughes merger. Today, Bently Nevada, a Baker Hughes business, is used in more than 120 countries and remains a world leader in asset condition monitoring and machinery protection.

Pressure Measurement Innovation Since 1956
Rosemount began in 1956 as an aerospace instrumentation company in Minneapolis-Saint Paul, Minnesota, founded by Robert Keppel, Vernon Heath, and Frank Werner. Its early sensor research supported the U.S. space program before the landmark Rosemount 1151 transmitter marked the company’s move into industrial process instrumentation.
Emerson Electric Company acquired Rosemount in 1976. The Rosemount 3051 and 3051S pressure transmitter families that followed remain a global standard for pressure measurement across oil and gas, power generation, and process industries.
